Brandon T. Byers is an experienced litigator in both federal and state court. Prior to joining Hilyard, Bogan, & Palmer, P.A., Mr. Byers defended law enforcement officers and their agency in § 1983 civil rights actions alleging violations of the First, Fourth, and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution, including allegations of excessive force and false arrest. Mr. Byers also has represented individuals and corporations in various commercial litigation matters to include construction defects, contract disputes, and trademark violations. Prior to moving into civil litigation, Mr. Byers was a public defender and prosecutor in Indiana and Florida, representing the government or defendant in major felony crimes. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Byers was a senior city planner for Winter Garden, Florida.
